Bow Wow Wow
For some reason the soundcheck lasted twice as long as the show at the Keyclub. Most of it was taken up with sound-checking Adrian’s ass, since he likes to blast his buttocks with Bow Wow Wow’s bombastic beats which are pumped through two massive bass bins (one for each cheek) in his butt-thumper equipped drum throne – that way he gets to feel the music from the inside out (now you know why he always has a smile on his face). In fact for you gear heads out there, Adrian’s ass has it’s own Power Amp and channel going through the desk (we’re actually working on getting a stereo feed – and possible a DI input to add extra excitement).
Annabella Lwin
After soundcheck Leigh and Annabella did a video interview for LA Nightlife. “The male interviewer flirted outrageously with Leigh as they compared notes on their leather trousers, “ remembers Annabella. “He bought me some beautiful flowers to the show later,” she added. “That show was crazy,” recalls Phil. “The energy was really fierce in the room. It was cannibalistic.”
Bow Wow Wow and Steve Jones at Indie 103.1
Annabella dedicated “Go Wild In The Country” to her ten-year old niece who was visiting from England. In fact her niece had made her broadcasting debut, introducing the track live on air earlier in the week, when the band popped in for a chat with Steve Jones on his Indie 103.1 radio show.
Norwood Fisher, Leigh Gorman, Billy Duffy and Calahan
The backstage VIP greenroom was a complete LA mob-scene. Music types such as Billy Duffy (of The Cult), Boz Boorer and Gary Day (from Morrissey’s band), Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), Eric Erlandson (from Hole) and No Doubters Tony and Tom had turned out for the show, as did Calahan, a new band Leigh’s been producing. As soon as Leigh hit the VIP bar he got hit with a severe LA moment. “I gotta a script for you guys,” said some wannabe producer. “For you and Annabella,” he added before dissolving into the night.
